POS Keyboards

POS-keyboards (or programmable keypads) are designed to optimize the operation of cash register systems and manage the hardware and software complex. POS-keypads come with basic settings and are programmed by IT specialists to meet the individual needs of the enterprise.

Each of the buttons of such a keyboard (or combination of buttons) can be programmed for specific commands. A maximum of 256 codes can be programmed. Programmable keypads differ in shape, number of keys (which can be from 24 to 128 pieces), in the degree of protection against environmental influences, in the type of material they are made of.

POS-keyboards are often equipped with magnetic card readers (card readers).

To connect to a POS-system or a host computer system, as well as for serial connection of additional peripherals in such keyboards provided interfaces to connect USB, RS-232 and PS/2.
