Microkiosk

An information kiosk is a multifunctional device with a touch screen monitor and sometimes a barcode scanner and receipt printer designed to provide access to a variety of information resources. The kiosk is optimal for self-service applications - displaying information (often to display current prices, availability information), transmitting data, making electronic purchases, navigating through the building, providing Internet access, and performing e-invoicing operations. Very often such kiosks with built-in scanners are used as price–checkers.

The touch-screen kiosk is available in a vandal-resistant housing and can be installed in public places. The information kiosk's powerful processor and rich multimedia and communication capabilities allow it to create solutions for the most complex tasks:

  • price checking
  • providing reference information in public places, such as viewing schedules, directions, availability, and reservations for public transportation and various entertainment events;
  • accessing the Internet and reading and writing e-mail;
  • providing public access to databases, searching for and printing out information;
  • remote ordering of goods;
  • advertising and product presentation;
  • bank account management;
  • electronic queue management.

Wherever there is a possibility of queuing (accepting payments, selling tickets, consulting specialists, warranty service, accepting goods, etc.), it may be appropriate to use queue management systems to ensure a comfortable atmosphere for company personnel and, above all, waiting customers. Additional equipment such as a web-camera, barcode scanner, MSR card reader and keypad will expand the kiosk's functionality and enable it to be successfully used in various areas.
