Radio survey

Most Auto-ID projects, whether stand-alone or as part of a WMS or TOS port terminal management project, involve the deployment of a mobile wireless Wi-Fi data network.

Radio survey

To build this network, it is necessary to use access points, which act as a bridge for mobile terminals between the wireless network and the local wired network. Access points are installed in various places - on the wall, on the ceiling. One access point is able to serve several dozens of clients simultaneously in a room of up to 1000 m2.

If you need to provide coverage on different floors, in several buildings, in warehouses, separated by walls, you can install a number of access points, and the data collection terminal will work in the warehouse and office or customer service area (roaming mode). By installing access points in the right places, you can achieve selective coverage in an area of up to several hundred meters or even more.

Not only warehouses, but very often also stores and offices are equipped with a large number of devices that interfere with the radio signal, ranging from cordless phones to microwave ovens. So the most correct way to get a realistic picture of how access points will pass a signal through walls, shelving and other obstructions is to do a radio survey. As a result of the survey you will get detailed information about the models and the required number of access points, locations of access points, coverage, sources of interference, power and connectivity. Radio reconnaissance performed by specialists is the only way to get accurate data to build wireless infrastructure that will ensure the transfer of business-critical data.

We have experience in radio reconnaissance, as well as the configuration of access points and collection terminals from the following manufacturers: Point Mobile, Zebra (Motorola, Symbol), Caribe, Datalogic (PSC), Honeywell (Metrologic, LXE, Intermec), CipherLAB.
